Kygo in Singapore
On 5 November 2018, Kygo ended his Kids In Love tour with a spectacular performance that blew the crowd away.
The Norwegian DJ kicked off his show with one of his hit songs he collaborated with Imagine Dragons, 'Born to Be Yours'. From there he played popular tracks from his Kids In LoveAlbum such as 'Never Let You Go' and 'Remind Me to Forget'. Every so often, there would be sparks and flames that would rise from the stage when the beat dropped.
Personally, I thought that the visuals and the lighting of the concert contributed to the coruscating and spectacular performance. The creative lighting and flashing lasers that beamed powerfully from the stage really amped up the whole experience at the concert.Despite the lack of audience engagement and interaction, his popular tropical house hits and dance pop remixes made up for it. Some of the dance pop remixes he threw in were from other DJs like Flume’s 'Say It' and Khalid’s 'Young Dumb and Broke'.One of my personal favourites during the concert was when he played Swedish HouseMafia’s hit single called ‘Don’t You Worry Child’. It was such a throwback to the good times and it was definitely enjoyable to see the people around you dancing and singing along.
There was a solemn moment during the concert when one of the singers on stage, Sandro Cavazza paid a tribute to the late DJ and producer, Avicii. As Cavazza sang the lyrics of Avicii’s lead single Without you, the words have never felt so raw and pure. It was such a goosebumps inducing moment to experience something so touching.
The two-hour concert ended with an acoustic version of Kygo’s breakthrough hit songFirestone. The man himself lead the song on a white grand piano with the one of the singerson stage by his side.Overall, it was a night to remember and I’m sure that everyone who went thoroughly enjoyed themselves, judging by the cheers from the crowd.
